Cannabis Industry Awards
On August 30, 2024, the MCCS, in collaboration with the Cannabis Industry Council and Drug Science, announced the inaugural Cannabis Industry Awards. Scheduled for Thursday, November 7, at HAC, Armoury House, City Road, London, this event will coincide with Medical Cannabis Awareness Week, celebrating achievements in the UK cannabis sector.
The Cannabis Industry Awards will recognize excellence through two prestigious awards: the Social Impact Award and the Contribution to Science Award. These awards honor individuals who have significantly impacted the cannabis industry, whether through scientific research or social initiatives. Nominations are open from September 2 to October 1, with public voting from October 4 to 25, allowing the community to have a say in selecting the winners.
Dr. Leon Barron, Chair of the MCCS, emphasizes the importance of the awards in acknowledging the progress made since 2018 in improving patient access and supporting clinicians in prescribing medical cannabis. The awards celebrate dedication and hard work that are shaping the future of the industry.
Attendees will enjoy a three-course dinner with entertainment, including a comedian and table magicians. An after-party at a nearby venue will provide further networking opportunities. Tickets for the event are available on the official Eventbrite page.
Sponsorship Opportunities Available
While Gowling WLG sponsors the Contribution to Science Award, the Social Impact Award sponsorship is still open.
